Windward Labs is an agentic AI market research and portfolio management assistant for boutique asset managers. We develop sophisticated AI systems to provide our clients with a decisive analytical edge.

Position Summary

The Software Engineering Intern will contribute to the development of our core platform. This role involves working directly with our engineering team to design, implement, and test software components that power our AI-driven financial analysis tools. The ideal candidate is a technically proficient and motivated student with a strong interest in the intersection of finance and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain software components for our AI platform using Python.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of data processing pipelines for financial datasets.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on the implementation and evaluation of machine learning models.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and system architecture.
  • Contribute to technical documentation for new and existing systems.

Must Haves

Essential requirements for this position

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental data structures and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git.

Nice to Haves

Preferred qualifications and extras

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Exposure to data analysis and manipulation libraries like Pandas and NumPy.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets or asset management.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
