About the Role

About the Wharton AI & Analytics Club

The Wharton AI & Analytics Club is the premier student organization at the intersection of business, data, and artificial intelligence. We are dedicated to fostering a community of future leaders by providing educational resources, career development opportunities, and hands-on experiences that bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and strategic business application.

The Opportunity: Hackathon Team Lead

We are seeking a visionary and execution-oriented leader to serve as the Hackathon Team Lead. This individual will be the driving force behind the Wharton AI & Analytics Hackathon, one of the club's cornerstone events. You will own the end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of a large-scale competition that brings together the brightest minds from across the university to solve complex, data-driven business challenges.

This is more than an event planning role; you will be the CEO of the hackathon, responsible for building a team, securing high-profile corporate partnerships, and delivering an exceptional experience that reinforces Wharton's position as a leader in business analytics.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Strategic Vision & Leadership: Define the overarching theme, goals, and success metrics for the hackathon. Recruit, manage, and motivate a high-performing committee of your peers to execute on this vision.
  • Corporate Relations & Sponsorship: Lead outreach efforts to secure premier corporate sponsors, managing relationships and ensuring sponsor deliverables are met.
  • Project & Operations Management: Develop and manage the master project plan, budget, and timeline. Oversee all event logistics, including platform selection, participant registration, judging coordination, and day-of execution.
  • Marketing & Communications: Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement a promotional strategy that drives high-quality applications and builds excitement within the Wharton and broader Penn community.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including the club board, corporate sponsors, faculty advisors, judges, and participants.

Who You Are:

  • A Strategic Thinker who can craft a compelling vision and translate it into a concrete, actionable plan.
  • An Exceptional Leader who inspires and empowers a team of peers to achieve ambitious goals.
  • A Relentless Executor with an obsessive attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence.
  • A Natural Connector who is comfortable building relationships with senior industry leaders and internal stakeholders.
  • Passionate about AI and deeply curious about its potential to transform industries.
