About the Role

About the Wharton AI & Analytics Club

The Wharton AI & Analytics Club is at the forefront of the artificial intelligence revolution at the University of Pennsylvania. Our mission is to build a vibrant community of future leaders, founders, and technologists by providing hands-on learning experiences, fostering industry connections, and exploring the business impact of AI. We are driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to practical application.

The Role: Hackathon Product Builder

Are you a builder at heart? Do you thrive under pressure and love turning ambitious ideas into functional prototypes within just four hours? As a Hackathon Product Builder, you will submit your team's prototype demo at the inaugural Penn x Anthropic Hackathon. This isn't just about coding; it's about rapid ideation, strategic tech selection, relentless execution, and visionary storytelling. You will be responsible for architecting, building, and pitching the full-stack AI-powered applications that will push the frontier of AI-enabled impact in our society.

What We Are Looking For: Inventiveness Impact & Story

Our judging panel spanning industry and academia will be judging each submission on Inventiveness, Impact, and Story. As a baseline, we are ensuring that prototypes that are technically novel, complex, and robustly functional. We are then assessing whether the prototype targets a socially meaningful problem, and how fully the prototype addresses that social problem. Finally, great submissions are separated from the good submissions by how well presenters pitch their story and their journey to the judges.
