Position Overview

Shah and Associates seeks a dedicated and meticulous Financial Planning Assistant to join our distinguished team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our financial advisors, enabling them to deliver the personalized, goal-based advice our clients expect. This role is integral to our mission of helping clients achieve their dreams for generations to come.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble materials for client meetings, including financial plans, performance reports, and investment proposals.
  • Maintain and update client information within our CRM system, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist with the processing of client service requests, such as account openings, asset transfers, and distributions.
  • Schedule client appointments and manage advisor calendars with precision.
  • Serve as a point of contact for client inquiries, providing thoughtful and timely responses.
  • Uphold our core values of integrity, honesty, and care in all interactions.

  • Strong Self-confidence, interpersonal skills, and time management skills
  • Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as required by the advisor, Ameriprise Financial, and FINRA
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; CFP preferred
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in analytical roles that require strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint preferred
  • Obtained (or have ability to obtain once employed) FINRA Series 7, 63 and/or 66 required

Must Haves

Essential requirements for this position

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative or support role within a financial services firm
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience utilizing CRM software for client data management
  • Exceptional attention to detail and superior organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Nice to Haves

Preferred qualifications and extras

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience with financial planning software such as eMoney or MoneyGuidePro
  • Progress towards or completion of Series 7 and 66 licenses
