Philanthropia is seeking a passionate and self-motivated Full-Stack Software Engineering Intern to join our mission-driven team. You will play a pivotal role in developing the innovative technology that empowers individuals to make a profound impact and streamlines fundraising for charities. This is an incredible opportunity to apply your technical skills to a platform that is truly changing the landscape of giving.

As a Full-Stack Software Engineering Intern, you will:

Develop user-friendly web products that enhance the Philanthropia experience for our users, charity partners, and stakeholders. Contribute to the scalable architecture that supports our world-leading charity search and personal impact dashboard. Work on end-to-end features, spanning server-side logic, database interactions, and intuitive front-end components. Engage in strategic product discussions, helping to shape the future of Philanthropia as we expand our reach and impact, enabling more people to connect with causes they care about.

The expected time commitment for this internship is approximately 15 hours per week for a 12-week period.

Must Haves

Essential requirements for this position

  • Prior experience with web-development tools including React.js (frontend), Node.js (backend), SQL databases, and Git, especially in a team environment
  • Ability to write clean, readable, production-quality code
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • A strong interest in leveraging technology for social impact and philanthropic causes

Nice to Haves

Preferred qualifications and extras

  • Experience with deployment platforms like Heroku or AWS
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Prior experience in the charity tech or fintech sectors
